Conclusion

Certified Organic from start to finish, by the Organic Food Federation, we have only used organic barley with no pesticides or fertilisers in the production of this 15 year old Deanston. This means the sweet oak and comforting honeyed spice notes you taste is the product of a 100% natural process.

Note

Some refer to our Deanston Single Malts as naked, due to the absence of chilfiltration and colouring in our production processes. Our organic whiskies, being doubly naked were a natural extension of that philosophy. To achieve certified organic status we have to start in the field with organic barley, from approved local farmers. We then insist that the full production process, from malting to final distillate, is fully organic compliant, which involves batch production, rigorous clean downs and exclusive use of casks that have been scraped and re-charred, ensuring the whisky is never in contact with non-organic ingredients. Our Organic New Make Spirit is then matured within our vaulted warehouse before being finished in Organic Virgin Oak casks, for an incredibly crisp, soft and sweet
Malt.
